DigiChek is a real-time identity confirmation platform. Users verify their identity one time through an independent trusted third party, then create a reusable DigiChek Key. At every subsequent login, payment, or age check, DigiChek confirms that the person acting is the same person who was independently verified, returning an instant Yes or No with no personal data shared. No biometrics. No document uploads. One credential across every organisation running DigiChek.
A DigiChek Key is a unique personal credential that a user creates when setting up their DigiChek profile. Only they know it. It is never stored, shared, or transmitted to any organisation. It works on any device, in any browser, without being tied to a specific phone, app, or platform. Think of it like a password that can’t be hacked.
Any person who completes identity verification through an authorised DigiChek registrar or independent third-party verifier. Adults can verify through an employer, bank, university or other registrar who has been authorised to provide DigiChek verification. Children and students can be verified through their school at enrolment with no extra documentation needed. There is no minimum age for registration; in practice, the lower limit is around nine years old for self-completion.
No. DigiChek is device-agnostic and operates on the organisation’s side, not the users’. It works on any device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop) without an app download, a specific operating system, or a particular browser.
DigiChek is built to operate across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously. The same credential satisfies age assurance and identity requirements in Australia, the UK, and the EU without modification. DigiChek is verifier-agnostic, so organisations use whatever identity provider is appropriate and compliant in their jurisdiction.
Go to the DigiChek website and enter your name, date of birth, place of birth, and code word. DigiChek will present two of your security questions. Answer them correctly and you can reset your Key, code word, and security questions.
No. DigiChek will always be free for users.
DigiChek only holds a few anonymised facts about you, rather than any sensitive personal data. A hacker who obtained that information would have nothing useful to do with it: DigiChek never holds the account details, card numbers, or usernames that your Key is used to confirm. Those are held separately by the organisations you deal with, and DigiChek never receives them. You can also change your Key at any time, making any compromised Key immediately useless.
No. Your DigiChek Key is completely independent of your devices, cards, phone numbers, email addresses, and any other personal information. Nothing you change in your life affects your Key, and changing your Key affects nothing else. If you have two legal names, you can hold two DigiChek Keys (one for each) and use whichever matches the name an organisation holds for you.
No. DigiChek holds no contact details for users. No email address, no phone number. Any communication claiming to be from DigiChek is not genuine. DigiChek has no way to contact you and will never attempt to do so.
If your legal name changes, you will need to re-verify with a DigiChek registrar using your new identity documents. Your existing Key can remain active alongside your new profile if you choose.
Your DigiChek Key is personal to you, but DigiChek is designed for real life. If someone else needs to use your account for a specific purpose, you can temporarily change your Key to something they can use, then change it back immediately afterwards. Your Key can be changed at any time through the DigiChek website, and each change takes effect immediately.
Go straight to the DigiChek website and change your Key. The change takes effect immediately. Even if a fraudulent site captured your name, date of birth, place of birth, and DigiChek Key, the moment you change your Key that information becomes completely useless. There is nothing a fraudster can do with a Key that no longer exists. Your card details remain uncompromised and do not need to be cancelled.
DigiChek integrates via a lightweight API or SDK. Users enter their DigiChek Key instead of a password at your login or checkout. Your existing payment gateways, identity management systems, and internal workflows all remain in place. No infrastructure changes are required beyond the integration point. Implementation is fully remote and typically fast to go live.
DigiChek receives only three data points per query: the user’s name, date of birth, and place of birth. DigiChek never receives passwords, payment card details, device information, location data, or any other personal information. Confirmation is always a one-way Yes or No response.
DigiChek stores only anonymised facts about a user. No biometric data, no identity documents, no contact details, no behavioural data, no financial information. DigiChek records the transaction reference and the querying organisation’s identity for audit purposes, but does not record what the transaction was for, where the user was, or why they accessed a system.
DigiChek confirms identity before a transaction reaches the payment gateway and issuer. A transaction blocked at gateway level generates no interchange fee, no chargeback, and no dispute cost. For transactions that do complete, DigiChek provides an audit trail linking a confirmed identity to a specific transaction, something not currently available in any other payment verification system.
Yes. Interchange fees are charged on every transaction routed to your bank, including those later reversed as fraudulent. Dispute administration ties up internal resources – and cash – on every contested chargeback. And in high-risk industries, sustained chargeback rates above threshold limits put the merchant facility itself at risk. DigiChek addresses all of these by stopping fraudulent transactions before they reach the issuer, not after.
No. DigiChek complements existing fraud detection, payment gateway, and issuer systems rather than replacing them. It operates upstream of those systems, adding identity confirmation before the transaction enters the network, so your existing controls continue to function as normal.
Registration organisations apply via the DigiChek website. On approval, they receive a secure login URL and organisation token. Every registration event is linked to the individual registrar who performed it, creating an individual-level audit trail for every profile ever created.
No. DigiChek has no direct-access endpoint. Every Key test must go through a querying organisation’s system, which means any repeated attempt generates a visible pattern of failed transactions that the querying organisation’s own security systems detect and block. There is no way to test a Key against DigiChek directly.
DigiChek is structurally resistant to AI-assisted identity attacks because there is no automated input surface to exploit. Every confirmation requires live, manual Key entry by the actual user. AI fraud tools that work against device fingerprinting, behavioural scoring, or document analysis have no surface to attack in DigiChek’s architecture.
A synthetic identity would need to pass independent third-party identity verification and manually complete the DigiChek profile setup, including Key creation and security questions. Both steps must be completed by the same person for the profile to activate. Combined with the fact that DigiChek holds no contact details that can be intercepted remotely, this sets a very high bar for synthetic identity penetration.
DigiChek freezes the fraudulent profile and notifies every querying organisation that has previously queried against that profile, including organisations that may not have known a fraudulent identity had been used against them. The notification is scoped to query history for that specific profile only.
